When to Schedule Your Maternity Photoshoot

Pregnancy is such a beautiful time in your life that deserves to be documented and remembered forever. You’ll always look back on the images from your maternity photoshoot in awe of the miracles your body performed, and you’ll never forget the feeling of sweet anticipation as you waited to meet the love of your life.

Now, let’s answer the question of when you should schedule your maternity photoshoot. 

When Do You Take Maternity Photos?

I usually recommend taking your maternity photos during your 8th month of pregnancy, so somewhere between 28-34 weeks. You’ll have a gorgeous bump we can love on during the session, and you’ll still be feeling well. You might have a special circumstance during your pregnancy, which means you can’t take your photos between 28-34 weeks. If you have any questions, please just let me know! 

Scheduling Your Maternity Photoshoot with Multiples 

If you’re having multiple babies, you’ll likely want to schedule your maternity photoshoot a little bit earlier, at 30 weeks, or maybe even before. Please reach out with any questions about your situation. Every mama deserves the maternity photoshoot of her dreams!

Booking Your Maternity Photographer Early 

You’ll want to reach out to your maternity photographer well before you’re 30 weeks pregnant, to ensure you can book with your dream photographer. It breaks my heart to have to say no to a family because I’m already booked. As a maternity photographer, I’m booked a few months in advance and can only take a limited number of sessions per month to give each client the full-service experience they deserve. Many clients reach out once they reach the second trimester to get on my schedule. You’re welcome to reach out as soon as you’re comfortable doing so!
