Are maternity photos “worth it?”

Most definitely. I often remind families that these photos aren’t just for you but also for your children. Someday you can sit down with your child and share these beautiful memories with them or tell them the story of their life and the love you’ve always had for them.

When should I schedule my session?

To best serve our clients, I limit the number of sessions I take each month. For this reason, schedule your session several months in advance to ensure availability on my calendar as I regularly book up. If you're expecting, it's never too early to get your due date on my calendar! Please send me a note through my website to get all the details and reserve your session.

What should my family wear to our session?

Save money and time shopping with access to my extensive studio wardrobe collection, with over 70 beautiful dresses available for moms to wear in sizes XS-XXL and clothing for young children to borrow. Clients receive access to an online gallery of dress options to view in advance of their session.

When should you take maternity photos?

I always recommend reaching out as soon as possible when you know you are expecting. My calendar books up in advance, so reserving your session ahead of time will ensure that I have a spot saved for you. I recommend scheduling your maternity session sometime between 28-34 weeks. This window of time is a sweet spot where your bump is usually lovely and round, but you’re not feeling overly tired as you get closer to your due date. Of course, every mom is different, so we can always work outside this timeline when it best fits your needs.

I specialize in “the early years,” including maternity, newborn, baby, and family photography. I offer sessions both in my light and airy studio in Carmel, in-home and outdoors. The Baby's First Year collective is the most popular option, which includes 3-4 sessions over 15 months to document your pregnancy and baby’s milestones. Please send me a note through my website for more information.

What types of sessions do you offer?

You’ll never regret having maternity portraits done, but someday you might regret not having them. I’ve personally had this experience and heard from other moms that they regret not taking the time to take maternity portraits during their pregnancy. Cell phone photos don’t compare to a day of feeling stunningly beautiful, focused solely on celebrating the new life growing within you and creating special memories for the rest of your life. It’s a unique and fleeting time; every woman should celebrate this experience.

Will I regret not taking maternity photos?

Maternity portraits are unique because pregnancy is such a fleeting moment in the grand scheme of your life and journey of motherhood. We often feel sick or uncomfortable day-to-day during pregnancy, so it’s so important to have beautiful memories to look back on to remember how amazing this time was.

Why are maternity photos important?
